The Story Dice Challenge: A Writing Experiment on Twitter

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to announce a new writing challenge I’m setting for myself on Twitter. I call it the Story Dice Challenge!

The concept is simple. Every Sunday, I’ll be rolling three story dice and using the pictures on the dice to inspire a micro story. I’ll write the first thing that comes to mind, and post it as a thread on my Twitter account. The challenge is to see where the random prompts take me, and to keep my writing skills sharp.

But I’m not doing this alone. I’m inviting anyone who wants to join in! Ill be posting the picture of the dice I roll every week and anyone can reply to my tweet with their own micro story based on what I rolled. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

For those who aren’t familiar with story dice, they’re a set of dice with pictures on them that can be used as writing prompts. Each die has a different theme, such as characters, settings, objects, or actions. When you roll the dice, you get a random combination of these themes, and you have to use them to create a story.

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of using random prompts to spark creativity. It can be a great way to break out of writer’s block or to challenge yourself to write something different. The story dice add an element of surprise and fun to the process, and I’m excited to see where they take me.

I’ll be starting the Story Dice Challenge this Sunday (30th of April) on my Twitter account @theandyohm so make sure to follow me to see my weekly micro stories, and to join in by replying to my tweet with your own micro story.

I hope you’ll join me on this writing experiment. Who knows, maybe we’ll discover some hidden writing talent or come up with the next bestseller!
